  1. Hi
I was not aware this was possible. I have used NTbackup a lot in the past. I am sure that there still is people out there having old .bkf backups they might have forgot about.

  2. I have some “floppies” from 1996. I used a Microsoft backup program which spread the backed – up files over 10 floppies, with extensions from .001 to .010. Not sure which program was used, but I makred MSB on the floppies. Could this be NTBackup? Will NTBackup work to extract these files?

Running ntbackup.exe (as admin) on an uptodate Windows 10 gives me the error message (translated):
    ntbackup.exe Acces point not found
Cannot find the access point for procedure SetCatalogState in DLL file C:\Program Files\NT5\nt5backup.exe
    OK

    Compatibility setting do not help.
    Any ideas?

  4. Really struggling with this, so your help would be very much appreciated.
I have the files, ntbackup.exe, ntmsapi.dll, vssapi.dll on my desktop.
When I try to run (as administrator) I get this message:
“The procedure entry point SetCatalogState could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\users\user\Desktop\ntbackup.exe”
I tried with the same 3 files in my Windows\System32 folder, but this time the message was:
“The code execution cannot proceed because NTMSAPI.dll was not found.”
    Thank you for your advice.,

    1. You are missing query.dll

I tried this recently and was able to restore a 20 year hold hard drive that had a BFK on it.
