1.Right-click on Battery icon on the system taskbar then select Power Options.

3.Next, from the “When I close the lid” drop-down menu select the action you want to set for both when the laptop is on battery and when the charger is plugged in then click “Save changes“.

4.Reboot your PC to save changes.

Method 2: Change Default Action when you close your Laptop Lid in Advanced Power Options

1.Press Windows Key + R then type powercfg.cpl and hit Enter to open Power Options.

5.Set the desired action you want to set from the “On battery” and “Plugged in” drop down.

6.Click Apply followed by OK.

7.Restart your PC to save changes.

Method 3: Choose what happens when you close your Laptop Lid using Command Prompt

1.Press Windows Key + X then select Command Prompt (Admin).

2.Type the following command into cmd and hit Enter:

Note: Replace Index_Number according to the value you want to set from the below table.
